Ed Hatton – a thought provoking speaker

Ed Hatton is an entertaining and thought provoking speaker, workshop leader, facilitator and writer. He uses his experience of almost 30 years mentoring organisations of all sizes to engage audiences and encourage them see issues in a different and more positive light. His fields of expertise are in business, marketing and sales strategy and his impactful speaking is highly respected.

Career

After a successful career in sales and marketing management in the IT industry, Ed launched The Marketing Director www.themarketingdirector.co.za to mentor organisations wishing to grow to their potential. In the many years since then several of Ed’s clients have been winners or finalists in entrepreneur awards, and Ed gained extensive experience in tackling difficult problems, a level few could match. He is profiled on The Legacy Project, a senior mentor for Business Partners a member of the Board of Advisors of North West University bHive Enterprise development unit and volunteers his time and skills at LifeLine where he is an Honorary Life member.

Ed wrote a regular column as the resident mentor at Entrepreneur magazine for ten years, he is a regular contributor to the Sanlam business blog, the SME Toolkit, Platinum Gold radio and other media. He co-authored a textbook on Entrepreneurship for Pearsons Education.

Speaking and facilitating

Ed has spoken at many conferences and workshops; a career highlight being delivering the keynote address to the World Marketing Congress on Mumbai India in 2018. He has addressed audiences in Southern Africa including at Markex, Interbuild, Marketing Indaba and the Sales Summit. He is an engaging speaker and a highly competent facilitator and workshop leader having facilitated strategic planning workshops for SEDA, LifeLine SA, Enterprising Women, Marketing Masterclass and others. He has the unique ability to bring his experience in entrepreneurship into the corporate world and address business managers and sales teams with empathy while surrounding the business challenges with humour and startling fact.
